The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, affirmed Libya’s endeavor to develop the energy sector, including both oil and gas, through an ambitious plan that includes opening new projects in onshore and offshore concession areas.
In exclusive statements to “Al Sharq Bloomberg” TV, Dabaiba revealed his government’s efforts to provide the necessary funding to develop the oil sector, which suffers from a dilapidated infrastructure that he described as “destroyed.”
Dabaiba announced the government’s intention to open the investment to foreign companies, by offering new areas for exploration and re-offering concession areas to other companies, including the leading British energy company “BP,” in the event that the first companies do not complete their projects.
