The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation in the Government of National Unity, Wissam Al-Idrisi, announced that the Italian airline “ITA Airways” intends to launch a new direct flight route connecting Tripoli and Milan soon.
In an exclusive statement to “Fawasel,” Al-Idrisi clarified that work is currently progressing rapidly on developing Tripoli International Airport, affirming that a Turkish company is now undertaking the implementation of this project following the termination of the contract with the previous Italian company.
Furthermore, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation noted that Qatar Airways recently conducted an inspection visit to Mitiga International Airport, where they reviewed its facilities and expressed their initial approval to operate a new flight route from this airport, indicating that coordination is currently underway between the relevant authorities to commence operations for this new route in the near future.
