The Advisory Committee resumed its series of meetings today, Saturday, to continue discussions on the issues related to the existing electoral framework. Through these meetings, the Committee aims to formulate a comprehensive proposal that includes a package of practical options to support the relevant Libyan institutions in organizing inclusive and credible national elections that enjoy broad acceptance.
The Committee’s efforts primarily focus on ensuring that these elections are held within a realistic and practically feasible timeframe.
In a statement, the Committee affirmed its determination to finalize its report during the current month, stressing that the proposals reached will be based on solid technical and legal foundations and will be politically viable.
