The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced the list of referees who will officiate the matches of the Club World Cup 2025, scheduled to be held in the United States of America from June 14th to July 13th. This upcoming edition is notable for the introduction of modern technologies and innovative refereeing adjustments for the first time in the tournament’s history.
The FIFA Referees Committee selected 117 referees representing 41 national federations. The announced list included the name of Libyan international referee Motaz Al-Shalmani, who has been selected to officiate matches in the tournament. This selection serves as a further confirmation of his distinguished standing in the refereeing arena, especially after being crowned the Best Referee in Africa for 2024.
