Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Armed Forces, has affirmed that Libya today stands at the threshold of a new era of transformation, where the hallmarks of reconstruction and development will take center stage, emphasizing that the southern region will be at the forefront of this phase.
This statement was made during Marshal Haftar’s visit to Murzuq, where he inaugurated several service and development projects in the presence of the Libyan Prime Minister, the Director-General of the Reconstruction and Development Fund, and several local officials.
The Marshal elaborated that the southern cities, which bore witness to chapters of war and conflict, are now writing a new chapter of construction and development, asserting that the ongoing projects in Murzuq represent an initial milestone within a broader plan encompassing all areas of the south.
He added that these projects will transform the south into an attractive destination for domestic and international investment, noting that the signs of development have now become tangible realities, no longer mere promises that have faded with time.
Marshal Haftar also announced the formulation of a strategic plan, prepared after a thorough assessment of the conditions in the south, aimed at securing the region and commencing actual sustainable reconstruction and building projects.
He underscored that the Armed Forces have been and remain the safety valve for Libyans, having successfully defeated terrorism with the sacrifices of the southern people who stood shoulder to shoulder with the National Army.
In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Haftar stressed that the south deserves significant recognition for its sacrifices, indicating that the wheel of development and construction has already begun to turn and will continue steadily towards a prosperous and stable future for all libyans.
