Norland clarified that the audio recording attributed to him, which has been widely circulated, is entirely fabricated and bears no relation to any actual statements or interviews he has conducted. He called on the Libyan people to exercise caution and not be swayed by these malicious attempts aimed at disseminating falsifying statements by US government officials. Ambassador Norland pointed out that the objective behind these false claims is to mislead Libyan public opinion and undermine confidence in the international efforts exerted to support the political process in Libya. He emphasized the United States’ commitment to supporting this process.
