Saleh al-Amrouni, the Director General of Benina International Airport, received a high-level delegation from the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation and Saudi Arabian Airlines on Monday evening in the VIP lounge, in the presence of several Libyan officials.
Those participating in the reception included Makram Khashkhusha, the Director of Aircraft Security at the Civil Aviation Authority, and Mohammed Salama, representing the Ministry of Civil Aviation, alongside leaders from the airport’s security agencies.
Al-Amrouni opened the meeting with a welcoming address, emphasizing the visit’s importance in strengthening bilateral cooperation and providing facilities for travelers from both countries. He stressed that the airport welcomes all initiatives that support openness and integration between Libya and Saudi Arabia in the field of air transport.
For their part, the members of the Saudi delegation expressed their admiration for the warm reception and hospitality. They affirmed that the visit comes within the framework of efforts to support communication and cooperation between the two countries and to explore ways to develop services and facilitate air traffic between the Kingdom and Libya. An official dinner banquet was held in honor of the delegation, underscoring the deep fraternal relations between the two peoples.
After the visit, the Saudi delegation expressed their appreciation to the airport director, commending the level of security and organization they observed from the moment of their arrival at Benina Airport until they entered into Benghazi, and valuing the “unsurprising generosity of the Libyan people, known for their authenticity and hospitality.”
