Taher al-Ba’our, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Libya’s Government of National Unity, held high-level meetings in Brussels, Belgium. During these discussions, he reaffirmed Libya’s commitment to the African-European partnership and joint efforts to address regional and international challenges.
Al-Ba’our commenced his visit with a significant meeting with Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission. The two officials discussed ways to broaden political coordination and to implement the outcomes of the Sixth African Union-European Union Summit.
The meeting also included a presentation on the security efforts undertaken by Libya’s Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity, particularly concerning the stability of the capital, Tripoli. This discussion aimed to solidify a balanced partnership based on shared interests and integrated development across the Mediterranean.
