Musa al-Koni and Abdullah al-Lafi, members of the Presidential Council, recently convened with several European ambassadors accredited to Libya. The meeting focused on reviewing the latest developments in the Libyan political landscape and exploring avenues for joint cooperation between the two sides.
Al-Koni and al-Lafi underscored the critical importance of the Libyan-European partnership in advancing the political process, ensuring the success of forthcoming elections, and bolstering comprehensive national reconciliation efforts.
The discussions also emphasised the imperative of unifying Libyan institutions, intensifying joint coordination on sensitive issues such as illegal migration and counter-terrorism, and working assiduously towards the withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory.
For their part, the European ambassadors reiterated their full support for the Presidential Council, commending its unwavering commitment to backing United Nations efforts in Libya. They welcomed the anticipated Berlin conference as a crucial opportunity to foster consensus between Libyan parties and the international community.
