The Libyan Ministry of Oil and Gas, part of the Government of National Unity (GNU), announced on Thursday its participation in the ninth OPEC International Seminar. Held under the theme “Pathways to a Common Energy Future,” the event is scheduled for July 9 and 10, 2025.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that Libya is represented by a high-level delegation led by Khalifa Abdelsadeg, the acting Minister of Oil and Gas. The seminar, hosted in Vienna, the Austrian capital, brings together energy ministers from OPEC member states and leading experts from the oil and gas sectors.
The inaugural day of the seminar featured in-depth discussions on the future of energy markets, addressing crucial topics such as finance and technology. Sessions also explored investment opportunities and strategies for enhancing global energy security.
The ministry’s statement underscored Libya’s participation as a key and active player in the international energy market. This involvement coincides with the presentation of new investment prospects, anticipated to contribute to the stability of global oil and gas markets.
