The Libyan Authority for Architecture has signed a memorandum of understanding with a consortium of Italian architectural associations and institutions. The agreement formalises cooperation between the Libyan body and architectural guilds and institutions across Naples, Reggio Emilia, Rome, Treviso, and Venice.
This memorandum aims to foster the exchange of professional knowledge and expertise, support collaborative research, and facilitate the sharing of best practices in urban and regional planning. It also seeks to highlight the cultural dimension within architectural design, explore the shared roots of Mediterranean architecture, and draw attention to existing Italian architectural landmarks in Libya.
The memorandum serves as an endorsement of a prior agreement between the same parties, initially signed in Tripoli on 10 May during the Architecture and Urbanism Forum. The broader objective of this collaboration is to strengthen relations between Italy and Libya in the fields of architecture, urban planning, and the preservation of historical heritage through mutual expertise exchange and the implementation of joint initiatives.
