The six teams participating in the championship play-off stage of the Libyan Premier League football competition are set to arrive in the Italian city of Milan, Friday. This move comes in preparation for the decisive phase of the tournament, scheduled to commence Sunday, according to media reports.
The same sources indicated that the Italian Government has officially agreed to host the opening round of this stage. This decision enhances the prospects for successfully organising this phase of the tournament outside Libya for the first time, amidst intensive logistical arrangements currently underway.
All championship play-off matches are scheduled to be held simultaneously at 7:00 PM Libyan time. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology will be utilised in all encounters, reflecting a commitment to ensuring fair officiating and elevating the level of competition.
The championship stage is set to conclude on August 8th. Immediately thereafter, the Libya Cup competitions will commence, with the semi-finals scheduled for August 9th and the final match set for August 13th, following the crowning of the league champion.
This phase of the league is considered the most crucial this season, as Libya’s elite teams vie for the title in an unprecedented professional atmosphere, thereby raising the ceiling of fan expectations for these matches.
