The Libyan Attorney General’s Office has announced the pre-trial detention of a former director of the committee responsible for treating wounded Libyans in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who held the position before 2015. The detention comes amidst serious accusations of significant financial and administrative misconduct.
The Attorney General revealed that the accused allegedly disbursed €355,291 without providing any documentation to verify the identities of the beneficiary patients or to confirm that medical services were commissioned from healthcare providers.
The statement further indicated that the former official refused to hand over documents and property in his custody after being relieved of his official duties. This refusal prompted legal action, leading to his pre-trial detention pending the completion of ongoing investigations.
