A Libyan proposal to unify traffic awareness messaging across Arab countries has received broad endorsement at a regional summit in Tunis.
Major General Faisal Bernous, Director of Traffic Affairs and Licensing at Libya’s Ministry of Interior, presented the initiative during the 21st meeting of Arab traffic chiefs. The proposal calls for the adoption of a shared traffic awareness character to be used in public campaigns throughout the Arab world. The character was developed by Libya’s traffic department in celebration of this year’s World Traffic Day.
The summit, which focused on enhancing road safety and reducing traffic accidents across the region, welcomed the Libyan initiative. Participants agreed to include it in the agenda of the next meeting, where implementation mechanisms will be discussed in detail
