Libya’s national karate team has landed in Abuja, Nigeria, to take part in the African Karate Championship, held from 23 to 27 July in the Nigerian capital. The tournament brings together top-ranked athletes from across the continent and beyond.
Representing Libya are three internationally ranked competitors: Mohamed Abu Dabbous, Nouri Al-Saadawi, and Bashir Al-Duwaibi. The team is coached by Giuseppe Romano, an Italian trainer whose experience is seen as key to securing strong results and raising Libya’s profile in continental sport.
The championship is considered one of Africa’s premier karate events, offering Libyan athletes a vital opportunity to compete against elite opponents and improve their international rankings.
