Libya’s Sustainable Development Committee (SDC) has endorsed its strategic plan for the 2025–2026 period, following its second meeting of the year under the leadership of Acting Planning Minister Mohamed Al-Zidani.
The session, held under the Government of National Unity (GNU), brought together senior officials, including Mustafa Al-Manea, head of the executive team for presidential initiatives and strategic projects, as well as members of the Audit Bureau’s oversight committee on sustainable development goals.
Discussions focused on finalising the committee’s proposed activities and operational framework for the next two years. Participants also reviewed preparations for Libya’s third Voluntary National Review, scheduled for submission in 2026, as part of the country’s ongoing commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The meeting concluded with a call for stronger coordination among government institutions to ensure alignment with national development strategies and to accelerate progress on key sustainability targets.
