General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, welcomed the Turkish warship Güzelyalı Ada upon its arrival at Benghazi Port, carrying a high-level Turkish delegation led by Ambassador Güven Begeç, Director-General at the Ministry of National Defence, Lieutenant General Ilkay Altindag, and Consul General in Benghazi Serkan Kiramanlıoğlu.
During the visit, General Haftar held bilateral talks with the delegation to explore avenues for military and naval cooperation, including the exchange of technical and operational expertise. The meeting was followed by a tour of the warship to inspect its advanced equipment and capabilities.
The visit reflects the longstanding ties between the Libyan and Turkish naval forces and underscores both sides’ commitment to strengthening cooperation in ways that support regional security and stability.
