In a Facebook post, Malta’s ambassador to Libya, Charles Saliba, has described the situation in Tripoli as “fragile,” calling on all concerned parties to return to a serious and constructive dialogue.
Saliba urged an immediate commitment to ending violence and a rejection of being drawn into any armed confrontations, noting that “the struggle for power does not produce real winners.”.
The ambassador added that “the loss ultimately affects everyone,” and that the Libyan people are the greatest victims, bearing the heaviest cost. He stated that the Libyan people deserve a much better reality than the continuous cycle of conflict, affirming his support for the calls for peace.
