The Peace and Prosperity Party has announced its absolute rejection of any military mobilizations or movements in or around the capital, considering them a blatant violation of international and national efforts aimed at achieving peace.
The party holds all parties involved in these mobilizations fully responsible for any consequences that could lead to bloodshed and the destruction of property. It called on them to exercise self-restraint and to immediately cease all military movements.
The party expressed its astonishment at the Presidential Council’s silence on the matter and demanded that the council clarify its position and collectively assume its responsibilities.
It affirmed that the protection of civilians in the capital and its surroundings, and safeguarding their lives and properties, is a top priority that must override any political or military considerations. The party called on the international community and the UN Sanctions Committee to fulfill their responsibilities.
The party also stressed that Libya’s future is built through ballot boxes, not through the barrels of guns, and that the only solution lies in a political project that serves the interests of all Libyans.
The party indicated that it will remain part of all efforts aimed at achieving and sustaining peace, affirming that the Libyan people will not abandon their right to live in peace and dignity.
