The Port of Sirte Free Zone has announced the completion of the first platform dedicated to unloading bitumen ships, marking a step that is the first of its kind in the region. The platform is considered a strategic addition to support the major development projects taking place in Sirte and the areas of eastern and southern Libya.
The platform was completed under the supervision of the National Development Authority to secure essential supplies of bitumen, a primary material for construction and road paving. This step is part of a plan to enhance the port’s infrastructure and prepare it to support strategic projects.
The management of Sirte Free Zone confirmed that this achievement represents a qualitative leap in the port’s development, contributing to its transformation into a logistical and commercial hub that serves the central region and extends deep into the south. This accomplishment also strengthens the confidence of local and international partners and affirms the port’s readiness to receive investments and joint ventures that support the course of economic development in Libya.
