The UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, has commended the efforts of the Libyan Presidential Council in advancing the dialogue toward peaceful solutions. She affirmed the UN Mission’s continued support for de-escalation efforts and announced the mission’s readiness to provide the necessary assistance to complete and ensure the implementation of the anticipated agreement.
This position was expressed during a reception hosted today by the head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, for the UN Special Representative and her Deputy for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury. The two sides discussed the latest security developments in the capital, Tripoli, as well as the mediation path being led by the Presidential Council.
