Benghazi University has launched the international “Jolly Phonics” educational program to train 50 English language teachers using a modern phonics-based methodology. The initiative is a joint effort involving the Office of International Cooperation, the Office of the University Vice President for Community and Environmental Affairs, the Benghazi Education Directorate, and the Research and Consulting Center.
“Jolly Phonics” is one of the leading educational systems that uses synthetic phonics, linking phonemes (letter sounds) with graphemes (written letters) through an interactive approach that incorporates songs, stories, and movements.
The program aims to establish a strong foundation in reading and writing skills for children, aligning with contemporary teaching methods. It also enhances teachers’ ability to deliver effective content tailored to diverse learning styles, contributing to improved quality in early education across the region
