The Criminal Investigation Department in Emssaed carried out a targeted security operation that led to the discovery of 160 migrants held in illegal migration hideouts within the city, living in inhumane conditions lacking the most necessities.
The raid was conducted under direct orders from the department’s chief, Major General Ahmed Al-Shamikh, following precise intelligence reports indicating that migrants were being confined in livestock dens. These individuals were subjected to psychological pressure and financial coercion, forced to pay money in exchange for their release and smuggling out of the country.
During the operation, authorities apprehended 145 Egyptian nationals and 15 Sudanese nationals. Legal procedures have been initiated against them, and they will be referred to the relevant authorities for investigation in accordance with the law, as part of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and protect lives from exploitation.
