Originally manufactured by the French automaker Peugeot between 1968 and 1983, the 504 was available in a variety of body styles, including sedan, station wagon, coupé, cabriolet, and pickup. Its design featured a front-mounted engine with rear-wheel drive, a high-riding chassis supported by long-travel suspension, and a protected driveshaft to reduce vibration during power transmission.
The car’s reputation for strength and stability made it especially popular in countries with rugged terrain, including Brazil, Argentina, Australia, and across Africa. Its ability to withstand harsh conditions earned it a loyal following far beyond its European origins.
