In a coordinated effort to curb irregular migration, Libya’s Anti-Illegal Migration Authority has executed two consecutive deportation operations through its regional branches in Sirte and Kufra. The actions were carried out under the directives of Major General Salah Al-Khafeefi, head of the agency, and supervised by Colonel Mohamed Al-Fadheel, director of the southeastern and central regions.
In Sirte, the local branch deported 18 undocumented migrants of Nigerian nationality, transporting them by land to the Sabha branch, covering a distance of nearly 650 kilometers.
Meanwhile, in Kufra, authorities deported 250 Chadian nationals. Among them were individuals apprehended during smuggling attempts, as well as others flagged for infectious diseases or security-related concerns following medical and legal screenings.
The agency emphasized that these operations are part of its ongoing strategy to combat illegal migration and reinforce public safety across Libyan cities and border regions. It also commended the efforts of field personnel involved in executing the missions.
