The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has commended the Libyan Government of National Unity for its decision to waive residency fees and penalties for Syrian nationals related to legal status adjustments, effective through December 31, 2025.
In an official statement, the ministry described the move as a reflection of the deep-rooted fraternal and historical ties between the Syrian and Libyan peoples. It also highlighted the decision as a positive step toward easing administrative procedures for Syrians residing in Libya.
The ministry further noted that the exemption falls within the framework of humanitarian initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of Syrians abroad. It expressed gratitude to the Libyan government for this generous gesture, which reinforces the rights of Syrian nationals and alleviates legal and financial burdens on the community.
