Libya’s Al‑Akhdar suffered a 2–1 defeat to Burundi’s Flambeau du Centre in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, played at Intwari Stadium in Bujumbura.
Al‑Akhdar struck first through striker Ary Papel in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error by the home side. In the second half, Flambeau equalized through Aswa, before Atchoua netted the winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time, after the referee added an unusual nine minutes of extra time.
Despite Al‑Akhdar’s strong start and dominance in the opening half, the Burundian team overturned the result in the dying moments, leaving the Libyan side with everything to play for in the return leg.
