Libya’s Interior Minister Essam Abu Zariba’s official visit to Minsk last July paved the way for a new chapter in bilateral cooperation, culminating in the signing of a security agreement between the Libyan Ministry of Interior and the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The accord, finalized in the Belarusian capital, reflects a shared commitment to building stronger institutional links in the security sector. It outlines a broad framework of collaboration that includes basic and advanced training programs, the exchange of expertise and educational resources, and joint scientific research. The agreement also provides for specialized conferences and seminars, the development of curricula and publications in security studies, and regular review meetings to assess progress.
Through this partnership, both governments aim to boost the efficiency of Libya’s security institutions and equip their personnel with the skills and knowledge required to carry out their responsibilities more effectively.
