A team from the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) held talks with members of the 5+5 Joint Military Committee representing the western region, focusing on efforts to reinforce the ceasefire agreement and advance field-level stabilization.
According to UNSMIL, the discussions centered on sustaining the ceasefire and activating operations related to mine clearance and the removal of explosive remnants of war in affected areas.
Members of the Joint Military Committee reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation with the UN mission, including efforts to strengthen the capacity of military engineering units tasked with clearing unexploded ordnance in the ceasefire zone and other high-risk areas impacted by past conflict.
