The National Development Agency announced the near completion of the restoration of the “Old Mosque” in Sirte, one of the oldest and most important historical mosques in the region.
This project is part of a series of projects undertaken by the NDA to revive historical and Islamic sites in Libya, with a focus on preserving the heritage of these landmarks.
The “Old Mosque” is known for its rare Islamic decorations and inscriptions, representing a priceless cultural and historical legacy. The executive management of the agency has been keen to preserve these ancient inscriptions during the restoration process while introducing some architectural updates that are in line with the historical significance of the mosque. It stressed the importance of speedy completion while ensuring quality implementation.
It is worth noting that this mosque is one of the most prominent religious and historical landmarks in the city of Sirte, and it is expected that the mosque will regain its historical charm when the work is completed.
