Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of LNA, held a meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando.
The Ambassador described the meeting as a “fruitful discussion” that addressed the latest developments on the political scene, the potential role of the European Union in resolving the current political crisis, and ways to enhance cooperation between Libya and the EU through programs supported by the latter’s organization, especially about improving the management of the southern borders.
Orlando affirmed the European Union’s full support for the new UN envoy to Libya, Hanna Serwaa Tetteh, stressing the importance of unifying Libyan institutions strengthening their legitimacy, and creating appropriate conditions for holding national elections.
