Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, received a high-level delegation from the United Kingdom, headed by Lieutenant General Harvey Smith, Deputy Chief of the UK Defence Staff, and Martin Andrew, the British Ambassador to Libya, along with several officials.
The meeting focused on discussing ways to enhance military cooperation and coordination between the Libyan and British sides, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries. The talks also addressed the UK’s support for Libya’s efforts in combating terrorism and extremism, as part of deepening the strategic partnership between the two parties.
For their part. The British delegation praised the role played by Commander Haftar in promoting security and stability in Libya, expressing their appreciation for the significant efforts made to support the political process in the country.
Commander Haftar emphasized the importance of strengthening constructive dialogue and continuous cooperation between Libya and the United Kingdom.
