Last Thursday, the MENA Project gallery hall in Benghazi witnessed an unusual artistic event: the sale of a painting titled “The Tale of Benghazi on the Mediterranean Shores” by artist Hana Nabus in a public auction. The event drew a crowd of businessmen, artists, cultural elites, and individuals passionate about art and heritage.
The auction culminated in a final price of 11,500 Libyan dinars (equivalent to approximately USD 2,000). The proceeds will support the activities of the Awad Abida Club for Fine Arts, a leading platform for fostering artistic creativity in Libya. The club boasts a membership of some of the country’s most distinguished fine artists.
