The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) stated on Wednesday, underscoring the urgent need for Libyan authorities to adopt a unified, transparent national budget for 2025. The calls align with recent appeals from Libya’s Central Bank, amid efforts to stabilize the country’s fractured economy.
In a post on the social media platform X, the U.S. Embassy endorsed UNSMIL’s earlier statement, which stressed that a consolidated budget is critical to empowering the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) to implement effective monetary policies, curb exchange rate volatility, and ensure disciplined public spending.
