The Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), Ali Mahmoud Hassan, held a meeting in the Greek capital, Athens, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Tassos Chatzivassiliou, the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Outreach.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ways to enhance joint economic and investment cooperation between the LIA and its counterparts from Greek institutions and companies. Discussions also focused specifically on the mechanisms for activating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the LIA and Enterprise Greece in 2021.
It is worth noting that the aforementioned MoU, which was concluded during a visit by a high-level Greek government delegation to Tripoli in 2021, was to promote cooperation in the field of renewable energy projects within Libya. This direction reflects the mutual keenness of both parties to develop sustainable strategic partnerships that would enhance opportunities for mutual investment between the two countries.
