The Prime Minister of the Libyan government, Osama Hammad, inaugurated today, Saturday, the First General Conference of the Maghreb Union of Journalists, hosted in Benghazi under the slogan “For a Unified Maghreb Press.” This important event will continue for three days, from 12th to 14th April.
In his opening speech, Hammad emphasized the vital role of media and journalistic cooperation among the Maghreb countries, pointing out that these media tools play a pivotal role in transmitting knowledge and shaping an enlightened public awareness that reflects the aspirations of the region’s peoples towards achieving stability and sustainable development.
The conference witnesses wide participation of more than 23 Arab and African countries, in a group of representatives from Arab and African media outlets. Representatives from various media institutions from all over the Maghreb Union countries and the Africa are also attending its activities, alongside leaders and delegates from leading satellite channels, news agencies, and digital news websites.
This conference is the first at the Maghreb Union of Journalists, The conference is a strategic platform for the exchange of in-depth professional experiences and the expansion of coordination and cooperation among various press and media institutions in the Arab and African worlds.
