Retired Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan announced on his television program Al-Captain on the “dmc” channel that Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala,” the captain of the Egyptian Zamalek team, has officially signed contract to join the ranks of the Libyan Nasr Club. Hassan clarified that Shikabala’s move to Nasr will be effective from the beginning of the next football season, for a full two seasons, noting that the value of the deal exceeds one million US dollars.
Ahmed Hassan revealed that the initial negotiations for the deal began after Zamalek team participated in the testimonial match of former Nasr Club star Khaled Hussein “Kammouna,” which was held last November. During that period, Abdulrahman Al-Zaid, the chairman of the board of directors of Nasr Club, expressed his great admiration for the level and skills of Shikabala, even stating in a television interview that he wishes the player would join his team even if he were eighty years old. Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala,” who is 39 years old, is considered one of the most prominent players in the history of the Egyptian Zamalek Club and the most popular among the club’s fans, and he continues to provide distinctive technical levels on the field. He began his football career in the youth sector of Zamalek Club and was promoted to the first team at the age of fifteen. He also had several successful professional experiences in European and Arab clubs, such as PAOK Thessaloniki of Greece, Al-Wasl of the UAE, Sporting Lisbon of Portugal, Al-Raed of Saudi Arabia, and Apollon Smyrnis of Greece.
