The national sailing team – Optimist class – continues its intensive preparations in the Italian capital, Rome, in anticipation of participating in the Garda International Championship. This championship is considered one of the largest global competitions in sailing, witnessing broad participation of over 800 athletes representing various countries.
The Libyan delegation consists of four athletes, under the supervision of the national coach, Mohammed Barshan. This participation represents a new experience for Libyan youth in this competition.
Before the championship events begin, the team is engaging in a preparatory camp organized by the Italian Atlantis Academy, a leading institute in sailing. The camp is expected to enhance the athletes’ readiness and raise their technical and tactical.
This participation comes within the framework of the national team’s preparations for to compete in the World Championship to be held in Slovenia.
