Dr. Al-Siddiq Haftar, the Head of the High National Reconciliation Commission, today received a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. This meeting was dedicated to an in-depth discussion on the mechanisms and ways to expand the scope of cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural and industrial sectors.
This meeting is considered an important step in building upon the initial understandings reached earlier during the meeting between the General Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Roman Golovchenko, last February.
The goals of this joint cooperation include developing and modernizing existing agricultural projects, providing the latest agricultural machinery, as well as supplying improved seeds with high productivity, and providing the necessary support for safe and effective agricultural protection equipment and pesticides.
On another front, intensive work will be carried out to establish investment projects in the livestock sector, including integrated projects for raising and fattening cattle, as well as establishing a modern central slaughterhouse equipped with the latest technologies to facilitate the export of Libyan meat to foreign markets. In addition to these initiatives, special emphasis will be placed on developing and growing the food industries in Libya, particularly in the field of milk production and its various derivatives such as high-quality cheeses, as well as in establishing integrated projects in the poultry sector to achieve self-sufficiency and meet the needs of the local market.
