A delegation from the Government of National Unity, led by the assigned Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Abdel Sadeq, has discussed investment opportunities in Libya across various sectors, including energy, with Debbie Hirst, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya, and in the presence of Joshua Volz, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe, Eurasia, Africa, and the Middle East at the U.S. Department of Energy.
During the meeting held in Washington, D.C., with the participation of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland, discussions encompassed oil and gas exploration projects, as well as development, health, and digital transformation initiatives that the Government of National Unity plans to implement in 2025.
According to a statement released by the government’s platform, on Sunday, the potential activation of the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement between the United States and Libya was also addressed. This agreement is anticipated to play a significant role in bolstering bilateral trade. Also present at the meeting from the Libyan side were a representative of the Libyan Investment Authority, Mustafa al-Manea, Head of the Prime Minister’s Initiatives and Strategic Projects Executive Team, and Suhail Boushiha, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy.
