The Libyan national table tennis team is participating in the North African Championship, scheduled to commence this Monday and continue until next Wednesday in Tunisia. Five nations, alongside host Tunisia, are competing, while Mauritania has withdrawn from participation.

Libya’s national team is represented by five players competing in both the singles and team events. The delegation is headed by Mohamed Al-Dewiki, the president of the National Table Tennis Federation.

On Sunday, the technical meeting for the championship was held, addressing various aspects of the tournament, including organizational, technical, and refereeing matters.

In an exclusive statement to Al-Manassa, Al-Dewiki expressed his dissatisfaction with the limited resources available to the Libyan team for the championship. These limitations include the absence of a foreign coach and insufficient provisions for the players during their participation. Al-Dewiki indicated that immediately following the conclusion of the competitions, a meeting of the federation’s executive committee will be convened. During this meeting, he will formally apologize for Libya’s participation in future international championships unless the necessary financial support is secured.
