Al-Ahli Tripoli’s basketball delegation has touched down in Turkey, embarking on an intensive training camp as they gear up for the make-or-break final qualifying rounds of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The Libyan side’s sojourn in Turkey is a crucial phase in their preparations. It is a concerted effort to hone their technical prowess and physical conditioning before the high-stakes competition tips off in Rwanda on May 17th.
Under the watchful eye of their coach, Fouad Abu Shaqra, Al-Ahli Tripoli will immerse themselves in a series of demanding friendly encounters against Turkish clubs. These pre-tournament clashes are vital proving grounds, designed to forge seamless player cohesion and elevate their tactical understanding and physical resilience ahead of the decisive qualifying battles.
The draw for the qualifiers has placed Al-Ahli Tripoli in a group that includes the Rwandan Army team, the Kenyan Nairobi City Thunder, and South Africa’s MPB. The path to the BAL finals is undeniably challenging, demanding peak performance from the Libyan outfit.
It is worth noting that the coveted final stage of the BAL competitions is to be held in South Africa next month, in June.
