The General Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, met today, Monday, with the National Security Advisor of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergei Shoigu, as part of his ongoing official visit to the Russian Federation.
During the high-level meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments on the international and regional stages, in addition to an in-depth review of ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries across various fields of mutual interest. Both parties affirmed the depth and strength of the long-standing historical relations that bind Libya and Russia, and underscored the strategic importance of continuing close political and military coordination between them.
