The board of directors of the Arab Volleyball Federation has appointed Ms. Awatif Abushweisheh, the president of the Libyan Women’s Sports Federation, to the prestigious position of chairwoman of the federation’s Women’s Volleyball Committee, with a mandate extending until 2028.
Ms. Abushweisheh is a prominent and distinguished leader within the Libyan sports landscape. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Libyan Olympic Committee, representing women’s sports, and boasts a commendable track record of administrative achievements and experience in the sports sector at both local and regional levels.
This significant appointment was made during the general assembly meetings of the Arab Volleyball Federation, recently held in Egypt, which saw the participation of numerous prominent sports leaders and figures, including Mr. Adnan al-Bakbak, the president of the Libyan Volleyball Federation and vice-president of the African Volleyball Confederation.
The meetings also witnessed the reaffirmation of confidence in Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa from the Kingdom of Bahrain as the president of the Arab Volleyball Federation, underscoring the continued developmental approach and ambitious vision of the federation’s leadership in the upcoming phase, all in service of the game’s best interests and its advancement throughout the Arab world.
