Arab leaders concluded the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad by affirming their complete support for Libya and calling for a peaceful resolution through an inclusive national dialogue involving all Libyan parties.
The final statement emphasized the necessity of preserving Libya’s unity, sovereignty, and independence and fulfilling its people’s aspirations for security and stability while clearly rejecting any external interference in its affairs.
Leaders demanded the exit of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya within a specific timeline, considering that the continuation of these interventions hinders the political process and further complicates the crisis.
The statement called on the House of Representatives and the State Council to expedite their agreement on electoral laws, paving the way for holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections that would end the transitional phases and reflect the popular will.
The leaders also commended the efforts of neighboring countries, the Arab League, the United Nations, and the African Union in supporting the political solution track, stressing the importance of completing the national reconciliation project in Libya.
