Major General Saddam Haftar, Chief of Staff of the Libyan Ground Forces and envoy of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, met with Niger’s President, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, in Niamey. Haftar was accompanied by a delegation from the General Command.
The meeting focused on discussions regarding the latest regional and international developments and explored avenues for military and security cooperation between the two sides. The aim is to bolster bilateral partnership and support efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.
Major General Haftar conveyed greetings and appreciation from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to President Tchiani, affirming the strength of relations between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Tchiani bestowed upon Major General Saddam Haftar the National Order of Merit, Niger’s highest honor. This recognition acknowledges the Libyan Armed Forces’ efforts in combating terrorism and acknowledges Libya’s role in supporting regional security and stability.
