In the framework of ongoing coordination between the Libyan and Russian sides aimed at achieving stability, the Chief of General Staff of the Army in the Western Region, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad, met with the Russian Ambassador to Libya, Aydar Aganin. The meeting, held at the General Staff headquarters in Tripoli, focused on monitoring the work of the Joint Ceasefire Committee and exploring practical steps for de-escalation in the capital.
Discussions included a review of the latest field developments, in addition to deliberating on mechanisms for implementing the existing ceasefire agreement.
It is worth noting that Russia is considered one of the active international parties involved in the Libyan file, playing a prominent role in diplomatic efforts. Moscow has previously participated in the Geneva talks concerning the Joint Military Committee (5+5) and also supports the comprehensive political dialogue process under the auspices of the United Nations.
