Hannah Tetteh, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, met today, Sunday, with several leaders of Libyan political parties. Discussions focused on reviewing the latest developments in the capital, Tripoli, as well as the outcomes of the Advisory Committee’s work.
The meeting delved into mechanisms for preserving the ongoing truce in Tripoli and reviewed the options put forth by the Advisory Committee. The conversation also touched upon the possibility of formulating a political process that ensures the participation of all relevant parties and leads towards a viable settlement for the Libyan crisis.
During the meeting, Tetteh underscored the paramount importance of maintaining stability in the capital and avoiding any potential escalation, reaffirming the UN Mission’s commitment to continuing its diligent efforts to support solutions that originate from the will of Libyans themselves.
