The Anti-illegal Migration Agency in Kufra, with direct support from the General Command of the Armed Forces, has commenced the implementation of a voluntary return programme for Sudanese refugees. This initiative falls within organised humanitarian efforts aimed at facilitating their safe return to their homeland, after years spent in Libyan territory.
The first contingent of these journeys departed from Kufra towards the border crossings, with necessary transportation and essential supplies secured for the returnees, under the direct supervision of the relevant security authorities.
“Almanassa” monitored the sentiments of many returnees before their departure, where they expressed gratitude for the kind treatment they received during their stay in Libya.
One of them stated: “Libya was a second home to us, and we saw nothing but kindness and respect from its people.”
Another added: “We thank the Libyan people for their warm reception, and we extend a special greeting to the police and the Anti-illegal Migration Agency in Kufra, who spared no effort in helping us.”
