The humanitarian “Gaza Steadfastness Convoy” has arrived in the Libyan city of Zawiya, having set off from Algeria and passed through Tunisia. This convoy forms part of a widespread popular campaign aimed at breaking the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and demanding immediate permission for vital humanitarian aid to reach its suffering population.
The convoy comprises approximately 1,000 individuals of various nationalities, alongside 20 buses and over 100 cars. It received a warm reception from the youth of Zawiya in the “Joud Daem” forest, where welcoming events and solidarity evenings were organised, reflecting popular support for the cause.
Organisers confirmed that the convoy will continue its journey on Wednesday morning, departing from Zawiya eastbound. It will proceed towards the Salloum border crossing with Egypt, and then continue its route to the Rafah crossing, aiming to deliver direct messages of support and assistance to the resilient people of Gaza.
